Alaska
Postcard courtesy of Mrs. Mertz and the K Kids!
Greetings from the Holy Name Kindergarten class in Ketchikan, Alaska. Ketchikan is located in the southern panhandle of Alaska. It is nicknamed the "First City" because it is the first city into Alaska from boat. Ketchikan is a city of about 12,000 people and it is the 4th largest city in Alaska. Our school is small with about 75 kids, PreK-6. Our class has 14 kids, 7 boys and 7 girls. We live on an island and the only way to get here is by boat or airplane. We get LOTS of rain here, we live in a temperate rain forest, where we average about 12-15 feet of rain a year. Most of the rain comes in the winter. We are very excited about getting postcards from everyone and everywhere.
