Hameln's downtown looks like a fairy tale city.  Everywhere in the city center, you can find rats... in pictures, toys, sculptures, symbols, etc.  Restaurants name their meals after rats, such as Fried Rat's Tail.  One famous restaurant in Hameln, is called Rat-Killer.  Even bakeries sell their bread shaped like rats.

At the end of the story, the Pied Piper took all the children away, leading them down Bungelosen Street to the cave.  Today, it is forbidden to play music on Bungelosen Street.
