If you participated in the 2006/2007 Hands Around the World Exchange and did not receive hands in return, please use the form below and let us know. Please DO NOT USE your school email address. For many reasons, schools filter our messages and there is nothing more frustrating than trying to contact participants only to have emails bounce. If you have a high level of SPAM filtering on your personal email account, please check your junk folder for lost messages.
Here are some of the reasons you may not have received hands in return:
1) Imagiverse did not receive your hands or they were mailed after the deadline. The deadline was May 6th (May 1st for participants living outside the U.S.). On May 12th, we finished distributing the hands and mailing them out to participants. After that date, we had no hands to return to participants who sent late.
2) The mailing address (not email) you registered with was in error and the hands we sent to you got returned to sender. If you are using the physical address of your school and they do not have mail delivery at the school (ie., they use a P.O. Box), you may not receive the mail. This is especially problematic if you did not include the name of the school in your mailing address.
3) You signed up with one mailing address and really wanted to receive the hands at a different address. We used the addresses that you registered with, not the addresses that may have been on your return address label.
4) You did not follow directions and were unaware of deadlines, etc. All registered participants were sent several emails about the project. Many of those emails bounced. We posted all the emails at Imagiverse.ORG in the hopes that those whose addresses were bouncing would still find the instructions even if there was a problem with email delivery.
If any of those scenarios apply to you, we hope this explains the situation and we apologize for any inconvenience. Please contact us and let us know. We are working on ways to improve these exchanges and your feedback will help us. Please do not use a school email address if you wish to receive a reply. If you do not have a personal email address, consider getting one of the many free types of email available. If you do not have Internet access at home, please consider asking a friend or family member if you can use their email address.
