Elizabethton is located in the Eastern corner of the state of Tennessee where it gets skinny. The Elizabethton Covered Bridge was built in 1882. It is a national historical site. Sycamore Shoals was the first permanent settlement outside the original colonies. Carter Mansion was built between 1775-1781. It is the oldest frame house in TN.
