Greetings from South Carolina!
South Carolina, one of the 13 original colonies became a state in 1788. We live in Belvedere, on South Carolina's western border with the state of Georgia. Our city was founded on the banks of the Savannah River. This river travels from the mountains down to the Atlantic Ocean.
State Nickname - Palmetto State
State Motto - While I breathe, I hope
State Bird - Carolina Wren
State Flower - Yellow Jessamine
State Tree - Cabbage Palmetto
