New York

Hello! Greetings from New York City!
I teach first grade in an area of Manhattan called Harlem. There are 14 children in my class right now. There are so many great things to do here in New York City. Maybe you can go to Times Square (this is the center of NY's New Years Eve Celebrations and it is famous for its many billboards), see a Broadway Show, take a boat ride to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, visit the Empire State Building (which was the tallest building in the world from 1931-1972), go ice-skating in Central Park (the largest park in Manhattan) or Rockefeller Center (where you can see a sculpture of Prometheus), go to a concert or see a basketball game at Madison Square Garden (a famous arena where the NY Knicks play). If you're a baseball fan, you can catch a ball game at Yankee Stadium (in the Bronx) or you can see the Mets play at Shea Stadium (in Queens), or you can go to one of the many museums here! Maybe you can even go shopping at Macy's which is the largest store in the world! New York City is also know as the Big Apple. It's a great place to live! We look forward to receiving your postcard so we can learn about where you live!
