Greetings from Bellport, Long Island!!

New York became an official state on July 26, 1788, and is the 11th state in the constitution. In New York City, Teddy Roosevelt was born in 1858. Also in New York City is where the annual Macy's Thanksgiving day parade is held. Part of New York is Long Island, and part of Long Island is Bellport, where we live. Long Island is 110 miles long and 21 miles wide at the widest point. Long Island is surrounded by water, which is why Long Island is an island. Long Island is famous for its wines. Bellport is 1 hour east of New York City and is named after Captain Bell. Bellport has around 9,160 people living in it.
