This gothic cathedral is located in the oldest area of Barcelona. On my most recent visit to Barcelona, I strolled up and down the various streets of the Barrio Gótico (Barri Gótic). Parts of the old Roman Wall are still standing. On many of the streets, musicians would play their instrument with the sound reverberating off the walls of the old buildings. The music set the mood for the peaceful stroll down the narrow streets.

For my 16th birthday, my Aunt and Uncle had given me money to purchase a guitar. A small guitar shop near the Gothic Cathedral had lovely guitars. I purchased my first Spanish classical guitar with that money. It had a most beautiful sound. For years, that guitar would travel with me everywhere I went. I still have it.
