Can't Get There From Here...
In the Spring of 1969, my parents had reservations at a hotel in Marienplatz. Unfortunately for them, much construction was underway in Munich in preparation for the 1972 Olympic Games. When they arrived at Marienplatz they found they could not reach their hotel due to major subway construction in the plaza. They took detour after detour and eventually, by then quite exhausted, reached the hotel.
