Alberta

When you drive into the town of Drumheller, you are amazed by the how the Earth simply opens up into this dry and exotic valley.  Erosion of the "badlands" exposed alternating reddish and greyish sedimentary layers.  This contrast amid an extremly desert-like area make it quite a unique view.  Continuing on the highway east, suddenly the formations stop and you're on flat prairie land again.

The rugged beauty of this spectacular landscape--one of the best places in the world to find dinosaur bones--is reflected in the setting sun.
